After this latest patch I have killed 5 different players (all suspected of Banditry). Upon killing them I have not been able to loot their bodies. In addition my friend will see their bodies in a different location, neither of which are lootable.

You need to find the weapon of the player (EG. gun, axe) and you should be able to loot from there. The weapon now seems detached from the body when the character dies and I found that I was only able to loot from the weapon.
