Server Browser list not showing up (possible multiple connection issue)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I dont know if this is a common issue or if its just my network but we seem to have issues getting the server list to show up at times.. sometimes having to refresh and restart the game to get something showing up.

We do have 3 Pc's trying to play at the same time so that could be a issue, and it seems to be more prominent when there's more then 1 PC trying to play Dayz.

Reference 0014603... is it the same issue?

No. not the same issue.
Seems to happen less when each PC connects one at a time eg. PC#1 clicks "Server browser" and connects to server. then PC#2 followed by PC#3.

If more then one is looking at the Server browser at one time then it causes issues.

Ive triple checked my router settings and dont see any issues there.

Hi queball,

This might be an explanation to the problem that you're experiencing (Thanks SmashT):

Please add -port=25007 into your DayZ launch options on two of the PC's. Right click on DayZ on Steam --> General --> Set launch options. The number doesn't really matter as long as it's different from the other computers which will use 2302, 2303, 2305 by default.

Basically, it's an issue with NAT translation. You've got two DayZ clients on the same network routing through the same public IP address. Even though they have 2 separate private IP's, they're both using the same standard ports... Most programs will generate a dynamic source port, DayZ doesn't do that so when NAT tries to translate your outgoing connections, your NAT firewall (192.168.0.1 and some public IP) can only support one or the other.

Alternatively, if you have access to the router settings and upnp is turned on, you can try turning it off, restarting router then trying again.

hi, is there meant to be - before port?

Yes, please try adding the following to your launch options: -port=25007

just the 2 pcs or all 3? we tried both options and it didnt seem to do much. it worked the first time we logged in, but after a few server resets it stopped.
And adding those ports seem to have made the loadscreen flash different colors instead of showing the character.

I also have another issue i posted today with weapon disappearing if you can help me with that or do you ahve to review that case?

For every pc you should try to use different port numbers in the launch options. For example: -port=25007 on pc #1, -port=25006 on pc #2, -port=25005 on pc #3

I'll find your other issue and have a look at it.

ok thanks.
Ill add a note here about that topic since its closed and i dont want to open a new ticket incase its already reported.

Also may I note that when you have a 75Drum attached and you do a quick switch to a 30rnd mag but dont have 4 spare slots in your inventory then the drum also disappears and doesnt seem to drop on the ground.
I dont know if it just disappears or if it goes underground like with the throwing but it seems to be a way to lose 75 bullets in one go!

That issue is also filed in ticket #547 though, but thanks for taking the time to report it to us.

Hello again queball,

Closing issue due to inactivity. However, in case the problem persists, please feel free to open up a new issue in the Feedback Tracker.
