had my akm, hit g, threw it, it flew off a bit and disappeared. I spent some time looking for it. About 10 min of looking it suddenly was in my inventory. Never saw it on ground. Decided to try to reproduce and animation was the same, disappeared, never re-appeared.

I also threw my Magnum, it was easily recoverable multiple times, as was my axe.
