If you have a pistol in your hands, and you have a chest holster, the pistol will go into your inventory instead of the chest holster when using the hotbar to holster/put the pistol away.

If you had a pistol in your chest holster, then put it in your hands and then use the hotkey to put it back, the pistol will go into your inventory instead of the chest holster.

If you haved a pistol in your handschest holster, andthen put it in you have a chest holsterr hands and then use the hotkey to put it back, the pistol will go into your inventory instead of the chest holster when using the hotbar to holster/put the pistol away.
