On my Retina Macbook Pro running Windows 8.1 it is not possible to pan the map in the editor because the game (or perhaps the OS) does not properly register the right click and drag action on the MBP touch pad. This issue presumable affects other MBP models. A simple fix would be to bind, for example, the cursor keys or WSAD keys to pan the map view.
