An object is placed and the player uses the object's hit box to move their position (usually elevation)
One example is fireplace stacking. A player will drop or place a fireplace at (or near) their feet. This will boost the character off the ground. They will then repeat this process gradually moving their character into otherwise inaccessible places you can access using the normal mechanics of player movement
This seems to be a historic issue that has been used / abused by players to access areas that they would not have been able to otherwise (buildings, bases)
Certain objects (particularity fireplaces) are being used by players in a way that is not intended by the developers.
- Fires are for cooking.
- Fires are not ladders.
This use of a fireplace to move the player's position therefore seems like a clear exploit of the game's intended use of a fireplace.
Obviously this is a historic issue that has been highlighted before by very notable members of the community: https://forums.dayz.com/topic/245191-base-building-rebalance-comprehensive-list-of-suggestions/
Given some other object's hit-boxes have been amended to prevent this sort of exploit being used, are there plans to fix other objects (car tires, car parts, fireplaces etc.) to prevent this sort of exploit?
