//EDIT: Added more information as I get it.
//
I'm experiencing very frequent (80% of the time) crashes, shortly after launching the game.
The crash happens ~30-60 secs after launching DayZ; it may be on the server list, on the video config screen, or after connecting to a server on the server list and waiting to enter the server.
On the other hand, once I join a server and start playing it'll be fine -- I've never experienced a crash in the middle of playing.
When the game crashes, it goes back to Windows which shows an error: "The instruction at 0x.... referenced memory at 0x... . The memory could not be read.". The memory addresses change each time.
Running the x64 version of the game apparently makes the crash less likely.
One of the last times I managed to join the game and play normally for ~45 minutes, then was brought back to the DayZ server list with the message "Connection to server has been lost". I exited the game normally and when I went back to Windows I noticed there was the dreaded Windows error "The instruction at 0x.... referenced memory at 0x... . The memory could not be read." I don't know if this error caused the connection cut or vice versa.
I should probably mention that my character is invisible on the start screen (see https://forums.dayz.com/topic/236948-my-character-is-invisible-on-the-start-screen/). I only see the words "Letf" and "Right" and my name underneath. The scenery behind looks fine.
I've already tried "Verify integrity of game files" on Steam, it corrected 1 file once but this didn't change anything.
I'm using the latest stable version (v0.62) on Steam.
