I believe adding a smaller type of four wheeled vehicle could make a vast improvement to the way people play DayZ as a whole.
- The speed of the vehicle could be capped at a much slower speed than the vehicles in the game at the moment. (Potentially resulting in a more stable driving experience over all)
- The smaller size of a vehicle such as this could be used by players to, more confidently, navigate through forests and such "off-road" areas.
- It would, most likely, require some powerful torque, to ensure it could traverse many hills and mountainsides throughout the game. (Similar to the old M3S Truck)
- The potential spawn points for it are more debatable, but I'd think it would primarily spawn in Hunting areas, with a few spawns located in Villages, and fewer spawns located in Towns.
- One primary downside would be how the player character is affected by crashing the vehicle. (This would be up to the devs, but I couldn't say whether the character should just jerk around when crashing, or completely fly of the front lol)
While the look of such a vehicle would be entirely up to the devs or designers, I believe some small editions could be important to the gameplay.
• Giving the vehicle little to no storage, but allowing the player to attach a backpack to the front or rear of the vehicle. (This could help it fit nicely into the progression of the game. Being very basic early on, but becoming more useful with something like a Field Backpack attached to one or both of the potential slots)
• A custom slot specifically for a Jerry Can to be placed into. (Attributing to the "survivalist" nature of the vehicle, and allowing either water or extra gasoline to be carried at all times)
• It would, most likely, require two new parts to be added, to aid in the function of the vehicle.
#1). Custom Wheels
#2). New Powersport Battery (A smaller car batter to fit
in a smaller vehicle)
• I would presume it to be a manual transmission that, perhaps, only has about three gear shifts.
• Could probably give the vehicle a single centered headlight. (A cool feature would be if the beam from the light turned with steering handlebars, rather than simply aiming with the vehicle itself)
• It would be interesting if the player was able to attach a bundle of Camp Netting to it. (This addition could encourage more players to base in wooded areas with a small, slightly camouflaged vehicle)
