I was crouched when i tried, don't remember if i also tested with standing. I DID NOT test it in prone position.
Edit: Now that there are some servers that work again, i was able to reproduce, and it's ONLY working when you are crouched.
Also i noticed, that you don't have to be looking through the scope, it's enough to hold it up.
