The V-280 is a third generation tilt rotor aircraft expected t tho be in service in 2020+. It is essentially an upgraded V-22. Though it does not have a ramp in the back, it has a lot of improvements over the Osprey. For example, both turboprop engines are attached by a single shaft. This allows the aircraft to fly even if one of the engines are lost or fail. Other improvements include the wide Black-Hawk style doors, highly maneuverable design, retractable landing gear, great fuel efficiency, speeds over 518 km/h (in flight mode), and a 15-man (plus or minus a few, depending on the situation) crew/passenger capacity. Also, different from the V-22, the engine does not rotate. Only the props rotate, which allows for greater stabilization during hover mode. There is also a larger prototype, comparable in capacity to the V-22, and a private jet in looks.
