When the HUD is disabled **using either the default key binding** (long press ` - tilde key) the item in the survivor's hand is still displayed in the bottom left corner. When in a vehicle, disabling the HUD in this way, still shows the car's HUD controls as well as car interactions (start engineor via the game options menu, open/closer door). the vehicle's HUD continues to display in the UI.
This breaks immersion for players who are filming cinematics or players and/or streamers who want a clean HUD.
A **partial** workaround exists.**Additionally, That workaround is tothere is a related issue if the HUD was disable the HUDd via the in the game options menu. It's a partial fix because it has some undesirable effects. (rather than the key binding). ** In this case, **First and foremostwhen the player exits a vehicle, because the game's behavior has changed when disablinga partial HUD comprised of the HUD/Quickbar (QB) from the menu as opposed to the key bindings**stamina and noise indicators is displayed. This change in behavior may have been planned or itself is a bug but I'd not seen anything relatable in the patch notespartial HUD cannot easily be removed (the key binding has no effect). For more on that change in behavior see **//"Issues With Game options HUD/QB Settings"//** in additional information.
Getting back to this bug and the associated workaround though:
- **Even if you disable the HUD in the game options**,The only way to remove it, is to force the game to "refresh" its options. This can be done by **making and applying a change in the options menu** The change does not have to be related to the HUD. Any change to the audio/video/control/option setting will do as long as the UI enables the "Apply" button. when you enter a vehicleOnce Apply is pressed, the lower lefthand area still showsUI refreshes properly and the car'spartial HUD goes away.
- If you do disable the HUD in the game options and then enter/exit the vehicle you start to see the stamina and noise indicators and there is no way to hide them (i.e. long press tilde does nothing). The only solution at that point is to force the game to "refresh" those options by **toggling any game options setting** (i.e. change **and** apply any UI element such as the crosshair, server messages, QB,It will likely be helpful to watch my linked unlisted YT video. or even the HUD itself. Though I should note that toggling the HUD requires you toggle and apply 2x if you want to keep the HUD disabled).**I made it while getting over the flu so please excuse the sniffles and raspy voice...**
It will likely be most helpful to watch my linked unlisted YT video. **Bear in mind I made it while sick with the flu so please excuse the sniffles and raspy voice...** I also had to do a retake of the video the same day I logged the bug as my original video lacked voiceover and I hadn't noticed as my recording software has never failed me before (Nvidia). It had apparently switched to using a virtual mic all on its own for some reason - a bug within the bug to evoke Hamlet - but not nearly the tragedy ;)[[ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmLOerfjO-k| Unlisted YT Video Illustrating these Issues]]
