Speculation here: Dual carry weapons. I was using a SKS loading with 10 rounds, with the mosin on my back. Drop Mosin on the ground. Shoulder the SKS. Pick Mosin up in hands. No sure is it will reproduce, but that is what I had done to switch weapons.
