I had weeks of stable gameplay, but now I can't start the game without crashing all/most of my system. The DayZ Launcher loads fine, but all hell breaks loose when I click "Play." I get "A new guard page for the stack cannot be created." I have received multiple different errors which all appear to align with a previous post (https://feedback.bistudio.com/T152523) where the OP states, "the game symbol pops up, it opens the game window (just black) with the mice and a loading symbol next to it. It stays there and then crashed. When I wait long enough, it closes the game. When I click somewhere (and can be seen on task manager as well, before it totally freezes my PC) that the .exe is not responding."
I have tried running all portions as an administrator. I have tried running the 32-bit version. I have wiped and reinstalled Windows, Steam, DayZ, DirectX, and Nvidia drivers. I checked that all drivers are up to date. I tried specifying different servers in the launcher. I cried a little. All to no avail. I see a lot of similar errors posted around the internet, but I have yet to see a definitive solution.
UPDATE (Solved): I had a working version running on another PC. I turned off Steam Cloud saves and I copied the contents of "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\local\DayZ" and "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\DayZ" from the working PC to the broken one. It's up now. I'm archiving the folders to my Google Drive in case I have this problem again. It appears that something within "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\DayZ" was corrupted and Steam was reinstalling the corrupted file every time I reinstalled it. I know this won't help a lot of people because it is unlikely that you have multiple instances of the same game running on separate PCs, but I've at least narrowed down the location of the problem. Perhaps we can get clean files posted somewhere so users can do a manual recovery.
