So if you lean 10 degrees and stop there, the lean sound (fabric sound) loops continuously even though you are not actually moving. This makes it difficult to hear nearby movment. I confirmed it is related to TrackIR by disabling TrackIR and using the Lean / Adjust Lean option in the game. The sound is not produced when leaning using that method, only when using TrackIR.
