**Game Version number:** Experimental build 1.2.0.52 (Steam)
**Modded?:** No
**Feature request:**
It would be nice if there was more incentive to drive/provide transportation. Right now, drivers of vehicles get a small amount of XP when driving with passengers, and whoever unloads supplies from the vehicle into a base gets some XP.
Expanding the XP that a driver could get would give more reward for acting in a support role as a driver. This could result in more teamwork in games, reduced usage of vehicles with only one occupant, and emphasize the importance of rank and supplies. Below, I've provided a couple examples of how this may be possible.
**Gunner assist XP**
Right now, if a driver and gunner in an armed vehicle are coordinating to incapacitate enemy infantry and destroy enemy vehicles, the gunner will receive XP for these actions, but no other crew members will. I propose that a small percentage of the gunner's XP from these actions is additionally granted to the driver.
**Troop transport assist XP**
Transporting passengers right now only gives XP for having them in the vehicle while driving. I propose rewarding a good insertion by giving the driver a small additional amount of XP based on the XP that the passengers earn after being dropped off. This could have limitations to help focus the XP gain. Some potential mechanics:
- The reward could have a maximum amount (cap) per transported passenger, so that transporting one group that is very effective doesn't make the driver's rank explode.
- The rewards could have a time limit from when each passenger disembarks, so that they can only accrue towards the cap recently after the players are dropped off.
- The rewards and cap (and maybe time limit) could scale based on the distance transported, so that short transport distances are not as rewarding.
To give some examples of how this could work (with made-up, placeholder numbers that would need to be tweaked):
1. If a passenger is driven 1 km, gets out, and kills 1 enemy, the driver gets 1 XP for assisting with that kill.
2. If a passenger is driven 1 km, gets out, and kills 20 enemies, the driver gets 10 XP for assisting with those kills (the reward cap for this transport distance had been reached, so not every kill gave a reward).
3. If a passenger is driven 5 km, gets out, and kills 1 enemy, the driver gets 5 XP for assisting with that kill.
4. If a passenger is driven 100 km, gets out, and kills 1 enemy, the driver gets 5 XP for assisting with that kill (the reward scale limit for transport distance has been reached, which is why more wasn't given per-kill).
5. If a passenger is driven 100 km, gets out, kills 20 enemies, and completes an objective, the driver gets 100 XP for assisting with the kills and/or objective (the reward cap for this transport distance has been reached, after which XP was no longer rewarded).
6. If a passenger is driven 1 km, gets out, and 11 minutes later kills 1 enemy, the driver gets 0 XP for assisting with that kill, as it occurred beyond the time limit.
