**Game Version number: ** All current versions (Sable and experimental 1.3.0.55)
**Modded?:** - No
**Issue Description: **
While playing the "**Combat Ops - Arland**" campaign you may encounter a random **mission to destroy the "Antena R 404"** object (located on the signal hill).
When performing the task, you will most likely decide to do the following:
First, you will destroy the enemy;
Then, you will take the explosive (TNT) and plant it near the antenna;
After that, you will move away and detonate the TNT.
But you will be surprised!!! - The antenna will remain untouched.
You can plant a lot of explosives wherever your hand reaches, but the antenna will continue to stand.
It turns out that in order to destroy the antenna and complete the mission, you need to shoot from a grenade launcher into the middle of the height (only there) or plant a mine under the antenna and detonate it.
**It seems to me that such game mechanics are very strange and unrealistic.**
I have conducted many experiments in the "Game Master" and found that the Antenna P 404 has an area (point) that reacts to damage from an explosion. Such an area (point) is present in all the high-rise objects (destructible) that I have tested.
I do not know the current code (algorithm), so I will explain as best I can using the example of the "Antenna P 404".
The area (point) that reacts to an explosion is located in the middle of the object's height (the geometric center of the object), but the player cannot install explosives there (this is impossible from the ground).
The explosion radius (impact) of the TNT does not reach this point (area). If you take a mine (it has a very large explosion radius), it overlaps the area (point) responsible for accounting for damage to the object. In this case, the object dies.
As an experiment, in the Game Master mode - you can install two TNTs in the center of the height and this will be enough for the antenna (TNT does not work from the ground).
Summary:
1. The mission to destroy "Antena R 404" in the "Combat Ops - Arland" campaign cannot be completed in the normal way (using TNT).
2. After the destruction of "Antena R 404", its red beacon continues to glow in the air (relevant only for the Euperemental version of the game).
In general. The game has poor mechanics for transferring damage from exploding objects to other objects.
This is a very serious problem, explosions are the basis of modern War. Without the correct mechanics (algorithm) for accounting for damage from exploding objects, there will be no ARMA 4. **We do not play CounterStrike - we play a brutal War.**
