If I'm not mistaken, the rockets burn a solid propellent and expel quite a bit of smoke or combustion.
I have yet to test night time, with and without using night vision. I would imagine there would be some sort of white flashing during the initial anti aircraft rocket launch until the flame is quickly shrouded by rocket exhaust and the angle of attack of the rocket blocking the light from the tail end of the rocket. Without night vision, I would imagine there would be some similar subdued effects.
(I'm also not sure if fixed wing air to air rockets are effected, or AAM, but do not think so.)
