no there have not been any improvements. Some items can not be taken with any method. They are "stuck" on the floor.

You can see that the backpack and the supermarket have a very strange texture.
The textures are switching fast between this and the original one.

Hi,
0.54 brought back this issue.
In ~15 minutes intervalls all textures kind of reload and look weird. Additionally, the FPS rate goes down to 2-5.
One way to fix it, is to change one setting back and forth that forces the game to reload all textures (shadows,...)
