Another way to reproduce this issue is to:

  1. enter Game Master mode
  2. take control of a unit that has binoculars
  3. press [B] to equip binoculars
  4. press ESC and go back to Game Master mode
  5. take control of another unit
  6. press [RMB] to aim down the sights and it will show binocular 'view mask'
