Happened to me regularly last night. Was carrying a jerry can (full of water) in my hands across the map. It happened about 4-5 times with a couple of different circumstances:

• Friend and I went to pick up the jerry can from ground at same time. Didn't appear in my hands but had all the actions (drink, empty etc) and couldnt put anything back into my hands.
• Dragging item to hands without first putting jerry can down. For example, my compass. Drag compass to hands/jerry can goes to ground. Put compass back in bag, go to pickup jerry can, desynced - still on ground.

Had to relog each time to solve the issue.
