PLEASE DEVS INCLUDE THIS! Manual fire is impossible currently while using TrackIR or any other head tracking tech.

In my opinion, chopper physics and behavior is much better in ARMA 3 than in Operation arrowhead. Main reason people are saying it was better in operation arrowhead is because as with everything, change is rarely welcome. People like what they are used to.

Arma 3 just needs a little tweaking and it will be great. Current model made flying feel very close to reality, but also made it playable and enjoyable.

But it is very very difficult to shoot precisly at a vehicle or a person while doing a high speed swoop.

Gunner should have controll over the bullets. Pilot should have control over the rockets.

Just had a match and it was such a hussle to tell my gunner when to shoot and what to shoot and have him shoot at the right time. It was more frustrating than fun.

Also, please place a fixed crosshair for missile direction. I am using trackir and have no idea where my missiles are going to go

Just played the support showcase and seems like the bullet detection is way off. I saw a bullet hit the ground behind the enamy but did not register on the enemy. After 5 shots at him one finally registered. This happenes quite often.

Just did a check in the editor. Seems like it has been fixed. The single light poles are collidable and destructable, however your chopper get damages aswell. The four light poles on the otherhand are collidable but do not do any damage to the chopper.

As you can see from the latest video it's a small bug somewhere. And is very hard to replicate. Only happened twice out of 10 attempts.

I dont think its that big of a deal. I am going to try with KA 60, but the bigger issue is in my other topic which states about drowning in deeper water and shallow water after you crash into the water.

Similar thing happens to me. What I did was take a scope of my weapon and placed it on the ground. My friend picked it up but it never showed up in his inventory.

@oukej: Thank you very much for the update.

Isn't this the same problem that we had with collective raise being halved. I know that Analog was working fine, but collective was halved.

Is it possible that this is the same problem, considering collective was going through a motion and analog was either on or off?

I am not a tech so I have no idea what I am talking about, just speculating.

Fireball, I am not sure how I would try it without the profiler. I am only running the drivers and dont have the profiler on.

I played TOH and for me at least that game did not feel very realistic or engaging. I could not imagine those controls in Arma 3

It's actually much better now. Much more realistic. One thing though is that after being hit with a rocket (even 10 rockets)the choppers don't blow up in mid air. This is fun, when you try and do crash landing, but is quite frustrating since you never know if you killed the chopper or not.

Look at the two links in my comment above. once again I would not dispute this if I were landing at 150mph but 80 is ver reasonable. Wheels would have no problem getting up to speed and would ofcourse cause some stress but not enough to make any significant damage.

Anyway, the physics are inconsistent and that was my point from the very beginning.

I am not talking about name of the video. Look at the topic name. Than watch both videos and see what I am talking about. CHopper damage is way off and inconsistent. And again, touching the ground with the wheels and rolling is very different than hitting a will to a full stop. Please stop raging and think about the physics of it. wheels roll. Damage to a chopper would be caused if you drop altitude at too high of a rate.

Look AT THIS: He is going at least 130km/h on just the front WHEEL! This means that choppers can roll at high speeds.

mwnciboo, it's 130km/h which is about 80mp/h no jet or plane lands at that speed. 747 lands at about 200 knots it I am not mistaken. That speed I was landing is actually quite slow, and if you see how gentle i was landing you would understand that wheels would roll and not do any damage.

Look at the second video of me boucing off the ground in mh-9 at 140km/h with out taking damage, and than at 70 and taking damage. I am referring to inconsistent physics.

EDIT: What ticket and what dev? I didn't talk to anyone.

Look at the second video. It does not have any wheels. And even if it were on breaks it would not damage the chopper. Just skid untill it stops.

I am actually getting really frustrated by it. Annoyed when you land gently and your motor blows up. Currently very hard to actually enjoy flying and transporting.

Yes but it not many use it and it is hard to switch between side and vehicle, as you have to be on both.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Something must be off in the physics, and I would assume that it also affect other flight characteristics which are harder to spot.

I learned that aswell just now. Seems like if you get shot as a pilot but manage to get away and heal your self, it doesn't seems to work that well. Because even landing gently afterwards damages your health. This happens even when the chopper is in always perfect condition.

Also, noticed that the usual wear and tear on the chopper also drains your health.

EDIT: I was wrong. It heals but med kits dont heal 100% However landing should not drain your health. It's not like each time you land you brake a bone and eventually are unable to operate and die. You should either die or get very injured if crash landed or just slammed into the ground. Otherwise there should be no damage done.

I am slightly confused. If I understand correctly, light damage to a vehicle causes major damage to the player?

I also agree with Ezcoo. Something seems to be off with collision model and how much damage pilot and occupants take. A slightly rough landing will almost kill everyone in the chopper.

Upvoted, however, the moving hud is good cause you can mark targets by looking at them. There should be crosshair which always stays in the spot you are going to shoot at. Also, Mi-48 seems to be shooting to the left. Or maybe I am just looking to the right, i dont know.
