Unable to load pre-1.54 savegames in Campaign and Scenarios (crashes to main menu and displays error)

Description

Please note this affects all savegames from before 1.54.133741. The example below relates to the Campaign.

Since 1.54 I have not been able to start the Breaking Even mission from the Gori outpost. I can start the briefing without any problem, walk around the base and rearm but the game sends me back towards the campaign menu once the screen fades out after I go to the 'regroup' point.

First error message displayed in the campaign menu after it crashes:
"Cannot load the saved game. Incompatible versions"

Second error message:
'Unable to load C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\Missions_F_EPB\Campaign\autosave.Arma3Save'

The same error occurs with or without mods.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Load a Gori save point in Adapt
  2. Walk towards the damaged Ifrit and start the Breaking Even conversation
  3. Attend briefing with Stavro
  4. Go to assembly point
  5. Wait until screen fades out and the campaign menu is displayed
  6. In the campaign menu, select Adapt/Breaking Even/Replay
  7. Errors occur

The Gori save points were from before 1.54. I can safely load the 'transitional' moment whereby the player walks around the encampment, select a mission, rearms, etc.

I haven't yet had the opportunity to try a patrol and/or revert to an earlier point to avoid the error.

please try to revert your save to the earlier point.

If this does not help, please send us the savegame file.

Thanks Razazel.

I managed to avoid this bug with your help. Below are the steps I took:

  1. As 'Resuming' led to the bug described above, I reverted to the previous 'Gori' save point - created after completing the previous mission.
  1. I tried to go on a patrol using the quadbike to see if Arma 3 would let me. I had the opportunity to select a location to start the patrol from. However, the first time round, I was sent back to Arma 3's main menu after the loading was complete.
  1. I restarted steps 1 and 2, picking up a different patrol start location. This time, the patrol kicked in without problem.
  1. I returned to base, which automatically created another save point.
  1. I tried launching the Breaking Even mission again... with success!

I guess I'm happy for this issue to be closed.
