ARMA III has a very unrealistic portrayal of personal armour. significant damage is inflicted on soldiers shot in the vest plate area. Most modern NATO armies issue Level IV plates today, which are tested to stop 2 5.56, but can actually stop around 10. There should be a more realistic portrayal of armour systems based on speed and mass of bullet. Bare in mind that a bullets energy and penetrating power are two different things. A 9mm has more penetrating power than a .45, since it's smaller and faster, and that's how you beat armour.

Try reading up on NIJ armor levels, specifically IIIA (soft, kevlar armour) and IV (Ceramic hard plates). There's also many youtube test videos, showing tests on vest, people wearing vests, and combat footage of soldiers shot in vests and helmets. I know that there is much complaining about how many shots it takes to drop someone, but this will encourage people, specifically snipers to think about shot placement. Also you guys should bear in mind that stamina does really (really) suffer when you wear hard plates. The vest is worn tight to stop it from jiggling when you run, which leaves you extremely short of breath when running. Read into this subject guys, this is one area where this game (and every other) really lacks. Feel free to email me about additional info if you guys choose to take this on.
