The 8 plank 16 nail boxes are awesome and very handy when setting up a base and storing small junk and miscellaneous items, but they are quite small and don’t hold much, maybe a scroll wheel to craft a medium crate and a larger crate just requiring more planks? A possible way to make it make sense would be to scale the crate from 8 planks down to 5-6 and require a full stack of 10 in your hand for a larger crate
