Crafting and gun operation cancels.

Got attacked by infected.
Had no rags / bandages, so removed pants.
Used hatchet to make rags.
Put rags into hand directly from vicinity.
Tried to bandage self.
Aviator would start to bandage then stop.
Repeated and tried multiple times, same thing occurs,

I then took out double barrel shot gun with slugs loaded.
Aimed at infected.
Could not use iron sights.
When pulled trigger aviator would step forward.
Tried again, same thing gun never fires, aviator edges forward.
