When barbed wire is put onto a gate, it will cause damage when you walk through the open gate. It will also cause damage within a certain proximity, that does not fit the barbed wire model(you receive damage without actually touching). I've had a few deaths from getting stuck in my own barbed wire without even touching it...because once you start receiving this glitch damage its near impossible to move, rendering you uncon then dead.
