I found an empty mountain backpack, which was more desirable than my current school bag. When I equipped the mountain backpack, which caused my school bag to then become my held item, I was more than displeased to find that my school bag was suddenly entirely empty. This was highly frustrating, as I had just spent At least half an hour (irl) held up during the night time in a house, during which time I had a sort out of my inventory. I had arranged it so that in my school bag were all of my food items and more, including, but not limited to; combined gas cooking pot and canister, several tins of food and drink, tin opener, rags, glow sticks and magazines. You can only imagine the horror I felt when un equipping this item, I saw all of these items vanish from my inventory after having spent the precious in game day cycle collecting these provisions, leaving me suddenly in a much more vulnerable position in day z. Furthermore, when venturing back into civilisation to attempt to restock the lost items, I encountered some zombie resistance (an expected element of the game) and had quite a close call, leaving me with a single wound and half blood levels. This would normally be an easy fix, patch yourself up with some rags (luckily I had more rags on my person at this point). After equipping rags to my hands, I found R2 to be non responsive and so I was unable to attend to my wounds. Remembering what a friend had advised me to do when the game bugs, I exited and then logged back in. Luckily, this fixed the controls and I was then able to use the rags to dress the sound, but at this point I was on a critically low level of blood. I passed out but luckily caught it just in time and was able to slowly nurse myself back to health.

I have tinkered with game development myself, so I appreciate the level of work that goes into what should be a simple task, let alone a game as I’m depth as this, and understand that community input is a big part of bug identification/fixing, but also I like the games that I pay retail price to be working alphas.

The game is hard enough as it is when working, and tonight I experienced a glitch destroy a third of my inventory, many items of which would be considered imperative to survival in the game, followed by another glitch that almost left me bleeding to death due to interaction issues. If my efforts to survive end in death, i want it to be from an in game element, not glitchy coding... I’m sure I’ll find more things to eat and other supplies, I just hope they don’t disappear into the void like tonight’s haul did...
