After joining a server, the player has a brief period of 'X-Ray vision', meaning that most objects are not rendered yet. Since larger objects like houses and vegetation are displayed a little later than zombies and players, the player gets a hellish recon feature. The simplest solution would probably be a brief 'black/black in' cutText.
