Pressing "circle" to combine items while in the inventory also makes player crouch or stand up, can be a pain if you're trying to take cover while sorting the inventory but your player stands up because you pressed circle while in the inventory. Whatever buttons you press while in the inventory should not affect what your character does until you close the inventory.
