When equipping NVG's to a combat helmet, there is no known way to activate the NVG's. No prompt is given anywhere. The goggles are active and have usable 9V batteries slotted. The only known way to use the goggles, is to hold them in the players hand, and look through them like a scope. Please help. I'd also like to receive any helpful information. Is this a bug? User error? Thanks.

This is a known bug. Even in the announcement of update 1.04 it was written:
KNOWN ISSUES
NVGs and helmet lights cannot be switched on
Swapping items between your hands and the inventory of a corpse can result in items being stuck in the corpse's inventory.
Opening the Online Tab in the "You are dead" screen gets the game stuck.

On PC I press and hold "L" key which I believe is the same key for vehicle lights, not a console player but hope this helps.
