I stored the contents of a backpack I was carrying into an empty fire barrel. The loot was there until I closed the lid. After re-opening it the loot had disappeared/de-spawned. The barrel is completely empty.

Have had issues with loot/guns de-spawning off of character since 1.04 update was released for PS4.
