I killed a player and tried looting the corpse, but eventually my UI quit letting me pick up items and load magazines with ammo. I could do misc. actions like remove the magazine from a gun but not put it back in.

On a hunch, I logged out and logged back in. Almost every item I dropped was duplicated and the players corpse had disappeared, but I was once again able to load ammo and magazines.
