I was playing earlier today, logged off to go to work and once I got home to play again my character had completely reset as if I had spawned in new for the first time. I had clocked in a lot of hours and found lots of loot. HOW DO I GET MY CHARACTER BACK.

You don't. Unfortunately there is a bug right now that if you drop things out of your inventory and then log out shortly after there's a very large chance that when you log back on your character data check will fail, before this was just locking you out of the game but the devs have now changed it to where if your character data check fails it will automatically kill your character in game so that you can continue playing oh, because they do not have a fix yet. Very frustrating
