This is a necessary feature it seems like it was just forgot about when designing the new layout for the controller you could perhaps make it so you click RB to go through the hotwheeled items and this would also stop the previous glitch where pressing why to switch from a gun to another item would cause you to reload the gun. Having to stop completely to pull out an item such as a knife or gun is a huge problem as it makes you much more vulnerable to zombies and other players and it is also causing players to walk around with their guns out all the time so they don't have to stop to switch making people shoot at each other much more often since people look more hostile.
