When using barrels to store items, they can become glitched or bugged. When they become bugged, you can usually tell by going up to the barrel and it will be open, but the game will give you the option to "open" the barrel even though it already is. The crash happens once you access the inventory of the barrel. Your screen freezes and you have to relaunch the game. Once a barrel is bugged it isn't usable, even after a server restart, as you crash every time you attempt to access the inventory.

I am also experiencing this I have place down three barrels all within a ten-foot radius of each other inside of a pre-existing structure two out of the three barrels are completely full and when I attempt to access the inventory of one of them my game crashes every time I don't know if this matters or not but the one that keeps crashing my inventory is a yellow Barrel the blue one next to it allows me to come in and out without an issue I am playing on Xbox One
