When I logged out yesterday my character was fine, but when I went to play today it showed my character in the title screen but when I loaded a server it started me fresh with a new character!??! And my original character is gone

I had the same problem, I had a character, after the last update, my character was no longer there, then I started again, I SURVIVED a lot of time, I equipped myself a lot, but the only one that killed me, again, WAS THE SAME GAME, forgive, but it is contradictory. I survive but the game kills me.
