Fella on twitter found a workaround, sign in with an alt account while having your main signed in aswell, using the alt account open the game until you reach the title screen then switch to your main, press A, now at the menu sign out the alt account then your account will be synced in. @Benejamkenny mentioned this workaround helping someone else commenting on DayZ Twitter. Hope this helps! Posting this elsewhere to help anyone else.

Easiest workaround for this is to sign out of your profile, and start the game with no profile signed in. When you are past the loading screen, it will ask you to sign in, and you can now sign in with your main profile and continue playing.

Signing out and in doesn’t work u need to be signinged I’m to start the game so it doesn’t work

I think you have misunderstood me. Launch the game from the dashboard with no profile signed in. You only need to sign in when you get to the screen that says "press A to start", and it will bring up the guide on the left hand side of your screen asking you to choose a profile. This is after the loading screen where the game normally crashes if you are experiencing this bug.

If your console isn't set as home it doesn't let you start any games without a profile signed in. Thanks for everyone's help it turned out that the fix diddyx suggested worked. If you stay signed into your account but sign into another account and start the game on that one and then switch back to your own when you get to the press A start up screen.
