Go to save the game on scenario, without fail in every mode it crashes. tried uninstalling all steam workshop content to no avail. tried clearing user data and start with fresh user, still no luck. This issue has been present for at least 3 months. Current version is not listed here it is as follows

I forgot to mention how to reproduce this error: Go into scenarios or even space program hit escape, go to save, (save box opens), click save, instantly windows error sound is activated, alt + tab out of program, get attached picture as error every time. :End reproduction process.
I fixed the issue, was an issue with corrupted save files from previous versions of the game. I went into windows explorer the followed this path: Program files(X86)\Steam\userdata\(your steam profile#)\244030\local\user\savedata:
By deleting ALL saved files this problem was fixed. I hope this can help many others that are having this save issue.
