Description

The game Launched either through the .exe file or through shortcut or steam does not launch.
I have tried every step mentioned in all the other mentioned instances of this issue that seems pretty common with this game. I have even relocated it to my SSD that my OS boots from, the C directory and still nothing happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have even cleared out the %roaming% folder, and again nothing changes. I do wonder if it has something to do with milti monitor, or multi gpu support? I should not have any issues with hardware as they far exceed most any requirements of anything reasonable.

I am experiencing the same issue except that I'm running Windows 8 64-bit. I have attached my DxDiag file.

I have a workaround to this issue. If the game is run in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode, the game will run and play. However, the mouse will not operate as expected. When running in Windows 98 compatibility mode, the mouse will not allow for UP or RIGHT movements in DirectX 3D environments. They get processed as DOWN or LEFT signals. If the game is fixed to allow operation without compatibility mode, the mouse issue should go away (This can be reproduced in other non-BI games, if such games are run in Windows 98 compatibility mode)
