Description

In the Beagle Lander 2 data recovery mission, the piece of metal that has to be scanned with the DRT is at the wrong position.

Steps To Reproduce

Start Beagle data recovery mission, move to marked area. I haven't tried the mission in a brandnew game, so it's maybe not always in the wrong position, only in my game. But this shouldn't be happening at all.

Additional Information

When trying to scan inside the marked area, the tool will not start working, because: "No Target". When scanning the disc, the task will not complete. There is a small part of the disc that overlaps within the marked area (screenshot 00013), it's possible to scan there and finish the task.

Apparently the main body of beagle is missing here. It is interesting how it could get lost, because is put there as a static object.

Oh, lol...that's interesting. Something must be broken! But the mission is possible, I just finished it. Will upload a savegame later!

Upload of my savegame wasn't possible. I uploaded it here: http://typhoon-music.com/savegame.zip

Thank you for savegame! Yet, still I have been not able to reproduce this bug. We'll have to wait if more players will encounter this bug.

Well, I have just found the Beagle Lander but have not yet returned with a DRT to scan it, but I can confirm that I only see a few disk-shaped parts (solar panels?) and one other small part that you can see on the attached image "2013-08-15_00004.jpg". There is nothing that looks like a spacecraft main body.

After doing some more missions in Gale and Victoria Crater, I came back to Kaiser today with a new, large rover, doing more missions. Then I checked the Beagle crash site again, and voilá...the main body is there. I uploaded a new screenshot 2013-08-16_00003.jpg

Are you running the dev version or main build? The issue could be caused (and fixed) by script, which synchronize changes from patch with your savegame. If you are subscribed to dev build, your game gets patched daily.

Also why do you have 20 Environment systems on your rover? :)

I started a new game with the main build, a week ago. Then I switched to the dev build EA - 0.8.0172 - with the missing Beagle parts. Now I have 0.8.0174 and everything is fine. I can see the Beagle, but I can't play the mission again, since it's already done. But I will start a new game sometime and try again.

The EAS has only 10 uses. If my rover has more than one, it can do alot more scans ;)

I just tried again with 0.8.0174 but still no Beagle. Only its solar panels and that one piece of debris.
For some reason I do not seem to be able to take screenshots via steam...

Does the bug occurs when starting new campaign? This issue was probably caused by first patch.
