Description

When trying to start the game (regardless if starting from desktop (via Icon) or by steam client) the game crashes immediately.
For one second you can see a steam dialog (seems to say "preparing for launch", but its only visible for an blink of an eye), and thats it. It vanishes from the tasklist faster than light.

start the game....boom.

GPU: AMD Radeon 7970 GE (latest stable driver & some betas tested)
RAM: 16 GB
Sound: Soundblaster Recon 3D

Patchlevel of OS: Fully pachted via windows update to the latest level

i got the same problem, some log output would be nice

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
Memory: 8190MB RAM
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I have tried:
-verifying the game cache
-reinstalled on my primary disk
