I finished downloading the game, restarted steam, restarted my computer, but always get the same issue, the game refuses to launch, the steam application launcher prompt flashes for a second and that's it.

Had to make another install of steam on my SSD, apparently, it doesn't like my normal steam installation off storage (D:) pretty annoying since I only use my SSD for system and a few software.

Run the game in compatibility mode with Windows 98.
